SeaFrance Unaffected by Volcano Ash Clouds!
Now that is a title text I didn’t think I’d ever be writing! As most of you are aware, the volcanic ash that has put a halt to all airport traffic in the UK has caused no end of disruption to many people’s travel plans. In fact my poor friend has had to cancel a weekend in Paris due to the flight problems, but just because the airports aren’t working, doesn’t mean you can’t leave the country.
SeaFrance Ferries are now taking foot passengers until lunchtime on Saturday 17th April 2010 alongside the usual traffic on their Dover to Calais ferries, whilst P&O Ferries bookings have gone through the roof since the volcanic ash created this back log of delays for disgruntled airspace passengers. It’s simple to book and with ferry crossings at less than 2 hours, you’ll be out of the UK in no time at all.
There’s plenty of space available at the moment, so if you need to get to France in a rush, this could be the only way out of the country for the time being. Rumours of submarines being chartered are at the moment unfounded, but not beyond the realms of possibility!
